I think District 9 is one of the most anticipated sci-fi films this year. After all, it was produced by Peter Jackson and directed by Neill Blomkamp, the guy that was rumored before to direct Halo, also produced by Jackson, but was denied due to the lack of experience. Maybe this will be his entrance exam to convince the big bosses at Microsoft to give him the reins of adaptation for their hugely popular game.Not much known about District 9, only that it's based on the short film by Blomkamp Alive in Joburg (watch it below the trailer, it's quite good), telling a story of an alien race that suddenly lands on Earth. The trailer looks intriguing, I just hope they won't ruin it by too much politics and preaching of moral didactics.
