New trailer for Alice in Wonderland redefines Epic

New trailer for Alice in Wonderland is here, and it seems that Burton is far from being modest, taking the story so far you can barely see the origin. Sword fights, mass battles and dragons? More like Alice in Middle Earth.

News/Rumors Summary

The poster above was presented last week in San Diego for the upcoming local Comic-Con, the largest fan convention among similar events. As you can see, this half of the face belongs to the representative of the alien race, called Na'vi, from the very secret, yet very hyped James Cameron's Avatar. And it's only natural that someone will start experimenting on photoshop to recreate full face of that alien female with distinctive cat-like features. And here is the best example that I found. Meow.

Four new posters for Inglourious Basterds, new characters photos from Alice in Wonderland, images from horror comedy Jennifer's Body starring Megan Fox and more.

----------

This cute commercial for Japanese bank was directed by Spike Jonze and features Brad Pitt. Where the wild things are.

----------

New and pretty posters for Inglourious Basterds. The only thing I don't understand is why somebody put on them lines from the film, as they are spoken by these characters. This is so Harvey Weinstein, to push it down the throat with all force. Ugh.

----------

New photos of three characters from Burton's Alice in Wonderland in full costume. I don't know how about you, but I wouldn't trust Mad Hatter with the rabbit. You just can't tell what he'll do to him.

----------

New images from Jennifer's Body shows somewhat chubby Megan as cheerleader and Amanda Seyfried as her best friend. The movie should be simple trashy horror comedy, and the only reason it receives huge amount of attention is because of Fox. In the movie, a satanistic rock band decides to sacrifice her for the devil, mistakenly thinking she is a virgin. But since she is not (duh!), a demon possesses her and turns her into man-flesh eating monster that kills and feeds on her classmates.
Megan Fox recently commented on her role in Transformers, how it wasn't really an acting challenge, and when Bay yelled "Action!" she was suppose either to run or to scream, or sometimes both. Bay didn't leave this without respond and said something, as usual, megalomaniac, which can be summarized in "The sun revolves around me, I am the creator, I am god" or something like that.
The whole story probably didn't endangered her role in Transformers 3 if she still wants it, but you never know. There are thousands of young girls like Megan looking for a chance to scream and run from imaginable robots, and she will not be able to rely on her looks forever. So her next films will be a test for her acting skills, in case she doesn't want to crawl back to Bay.
BTW, she did a topless scene for that film, but it is still unclear if it'll make the final cut.

Superman's job is now available. Brandon Routh, whose career didn't really take off since he played the man of steel, said in the interview that his contract to play Superman in the next installment has been expired. Considering poor box office performance (comparing to its huge budget) of Superman Returns, and since Routh is now no more than just another Dean Cain, I will put my money on the new actor. That in case next Superman movie will be made after all. Maybe the studio is waiting for Tom Welling to grow up a little and give him a try. We'll see.

----------

New live action Star Wars TV series will start filming in Australia soon. No details on what or who or how, but expect this to be huge.

----------

Official poster for Surrogates features Bruce Willis without his hairy friend. Still, it is pretty awful poster.

Terry Gilliam's next film is The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, which starts shooting in 2010. Being a disaster the first time, Gilliam hopes that now he will be able to make it right and nothing will stop him from succeeding. Not even losing his lead actor, which is exactly what's going to happen. Depp was suppose to star, but now he is not so sure about that:
We have talked about it. But to be honest, the thing about Terry… I love Terry, and I’d do anything the guy wants to do, but with Quixote… my dance card is pretty nutty for the next couple of years. So I’d hate to put him in a position - or ask to be in a position - where he’d have to wait for me. That would be wrong. [...] So I don’t know if it’s right for me to go back there.
Gilliam also have something to say:
Johnny gets first dibs on the thing. I think he is just tied up with too many big projects that he is locked himself into. [...] We can't wait until Johnny's available. Nevertheless, he gets first choice, and we'll see if anything changes on his dance card.
Somehow I don't think he will have a problem to find any other actor instead. Full interview with Gilliam here.
