Last Man In Space

Now this is just getting ridiculous, it truly reminds me the South Park episode when manatees were the writers of Family Guy. It's like TV producers don't try anymore, they just pile ideas from other shows, select randomly couple of them and here you go, a new show! I am 100% sure that this is how they came up with the idea for the new TV series on ABC - Defying Gravity.

Synopsis:
In the near future, eight astronauts from five countries (four women and four men) undertake a mysterious six-year international space mission covering thirteen billion kilometres. With the eyes of the world upon them - everything they do is monitored, and every emotion they feel, scrutinized - they soon discover that their real assignment is not at all what they thought.
The intimate relationships among the astronauts and the ground crew, as well as their actions, from the past and the present, on earth and in space, are all connected. Episodes are divided between the present and the past, with flashbacks to the earlier years when the astronauts were in the grueling selection and training process.

The show was pitched to the network as Grey's Anatomy in space, but I detect influences from other shows, as well as hints for reality TV format. Watch eight people live together in one spaceship! Watch the intrigues, the flirting, the conflicts, the fights in the line for the only bathroom on the ship! As they go through different mission, viewers vote one person out every week! Who will be the first to go? Who will be the Last Man in Space? Who will win one million dollars?
