The principal photography of the A Nightmare on the Elm Street reboot was completed this week and promotional stage has started. Number of images for the movie were released, including teaser poster, name banner and image of Jackie Earle Haley as the new Freddy Krueger.Jackie was just Rorschach in excellent Watchmen, and using his renewed popularity he got that Freddy gig, which will bring him to the new heights of fandom.
The new film is re-imagining of the story, not prequel and not sequel. I'm going to follow this one closely due to some sentimental feelings I have for the franchise.
The original is awesome. It will be strange to not have Englund as Freddy. Was he considered for the part or did he not want it? I've read that he is positive to the new movie. And that he hopes that they'll do a new direction, and he hopes freddy will look a little different etc.
ReplyDeleteI think they wanted complete reboot, with new actor. Having Englund would connect people of the previous films, like it's a sequel.
ReplyDeleteHe is also older now, and the role was too physical for him. I think Haley will do good job as Freddy.
