Recap # 3

Second trailer for rotoscope animation Baton by Ryûhei Kitamura.

Previous trailer here, official website here

Very cool looking upcoming steam punk animation, which is basically a sequel to the famous The War Of The Worlds by H.G. Wells. And even more interesting, the film is inspired by and will have connections to Heavy Metal fantasy world. No trailer for now, but there are tons of concept art.

Short synopsis:
It's an R rated, retro-history, steam punk epic set in [the year] 1914, fourteen years after the first failed Martian invasion. Mankind has rebuilt her cities and military adapting a lot of the abandoned Martian technology. They've created an international defense force, A.R.E.S., based on the lower end of Manhattan and under the command of Theaodore Roosevelt. They've built a formidable force centered around giant, steam powered battle tripods.

Can't wait to see Astro Boy? Well, nothing I can do about that, but in the meantime, here is a promo video for upcoming film. The video includes footage from the original series and also an introduction to the latest effort.

Trailer for a very interesting illustrated project named Godkiller, based on graphic novel by the same name.

Godkiller takes place in a dark future after economic collapse, after nuclear holy war, and after Earth is colonized by alien races. Tommy and his kid sister Lucy live in an orphanage in one of the few remaining city-states, but Lucy is critically ill and desperately in need of a new heart. Tommy's odyssey to find a new heart for his sister begins when he follows an organ-stealing prostitute named Halfpipe out of the city-state and into the savage border-land known as Outer City.
